Dr. Casey Cooper

Dr. Casey Cooper was raised on his families' horse ranch on the California/Arizona boarder of the desert. Began riding with his family at the a young age and participated in 4H programs and trail riding. During high school, Dr. Cooper spent his summers with elite performance horse trainers in Scottsdale, Arizona. These valuable mentorships prepared Dr. Cooper for competitively showing his own reining horses in youth and amateur AQHA and NRHA events across the country.

Dr. Cooper attended Colorado State University (CSU) and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Bio-medical science. During graduate school, Dr. Cooper served as the lead teaching associate of the gross anatomy lab and helped undergraduate students reach their potential. Dr. Cooper completed the DVM program at CSU in May of 2015 and joined Montana Equine as an intern. He was excited to continue working with Montana Equine as a full time staff veterinarian starting in June of 2016 and also working as an ambulatory vet in the Helena area for Captial Large Animal when it merged with Montana Equine in August of 2016..

Dr. Cooper works in all areas of equine medicine but his particular interests are equine lameness, preventative medicine, dentistry, and herd health.

In his free time, Dr. Casey Cooper and his wife, Frannie, enjoy fly fishing with their Aussie, "Midge", and listening to Vin Scully call a Dodger game.
